The Lizard
The Lizard is a peninsula located at the most southerly point of Cornwall. It is also home to the most southerly village on the British mainland – Lizard village.
The peninsula has been designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty and as a site of special scientific interest. Most of the Lizard peninsula is owned by the National Trust, ensuring that its natural beauty has remained largely untouched and unspoilt.
Goonhilly Satellite Station
A great day out on the Lizard can be had combining a leisurely walk over the Goonhilly Downs followed by a visit to the Goonhilly Satellite Station, whose huge dishes dominate the landscape.
The Goonhilly visitors centre with provides both indoor and outdoor activities. This combined with a close up view of their iconic dishes makes it an ideal place for the whole family to visit.
