Built into a rocky outcrop on the cliffs of Porthcurno Bay providing an epic setting for the productions that it hosts throughout the summer months.
Under the Stars
Referred to as the ‘theatre under the stars’ you can visit the Minack Theatre as both a daytime visitor to explore the historic site, or as an evening visitor to catch one of the many plays.
Singlehandedly planned, financed and built in the 1930’s by Rowena Cade, a local resident of Porthcurno Bay. This truly remarkable story is well documented in the visitor centre so make sure you leave plenty of time before your play to enjoy her story.
You may be lucky on your visit to enjoy some wildlife in the background sea. Watch out for basking sharks, gannets and seals.
There is also a cafe and a visitor’s centre on site overlooking the theatre and bay.
